Everything you'll need to know on how to setup your Testimonials Carousel section.

Written by Cartiafy Team Updated April 2026

The Testimonials Carousel section displays customer reviews in a horizontally scrolling carousel of cards. Each card shows a star rating, the review text, the customer's name, role, photo, and an optional Verified badge. Perfect for the homepage, product pages, or anywhere social proof helps build trust.

Adding the section

To activate this section you first have to add the section to your page. This can be done in a few small steps.

1) Click on Add section which can be found in your left sidebar.

2) Scroll down, or search for Testimonials Carousel, then click on it.

3) Done — your Testimonials Carousel section is added.

General settings

The general settings contain the colors, content, carousel, and layout setup of the Testimonials Carousel section. Simply click on the section to open the settings.

Color scheme

Select the color scheme for the section. You can pick from any of the schemes set up in Theme Settings → Colors. Controls the section background, heading text, card background, and review text colors.

Colors

Star color

Color used for the filled stars of the review rating. The default #eab308 is a warm amber that reads well on most backgrounds. Pick a brand color if you want the stars to match your accent palette.

Accent color

Used for quote mark, verified badge and avatar ring. The default #6366f1 is a soft indigo. This color also tints the eyebrow label background and shows on card hover state, so pick something that complements your color scheme.

Content

Eyebrow label

Small pill-style label shown above the heading with a star icon. For example: Customer Reviews, Trusted by 10,000+, or Real Reviews. The default is Customer Reviews.

Heading

The main title shown above the carousel, rendered as an H2 tag. For example: What our customers say or Loved by thousands. Leave empty to hide.

Subheading

Smaller paragraph below the heading. For example: Real reviews from real customers. Leave empty to hide.

Carousel

Infinite loop

Tick this box to make the carousel wrap from the last review back to the first seamlessly. When unticked, navigation arrows disable at the start and end. Default: on.

Enable autoplay

Tick this box to automatically advance the carousel from one review to the next. Hover on a card pauses autoplay so visitors can finish reading. Default: on.

Autoplay speed

Time spent on each review before advancing, between 2 and 15 seconds. The default 5 seconds gives visitors enough time to read most reviews. Increase to 7–10 seconds if your reviews are longer.

Layout

Card border radius

Round the corners of each review card, between 0 px and 24 px. Set to 0 to follow the global UI border radius. Use a non-zero value to override the theme default.

Padding top

Space above the section in pixels (0–120). The default 80 px gives the section presence. Reduced to 52 px on mobile.

Padding bottom

Space below the section in pixels (0–120). The default 80 px gives the section presence. Reduced to 60 px on mobile.

Adding testimonials

Each review card is an individual Testimonial block. Click Add block inside the section and choose Testimonial. Aim for at least 3–6 testimonials so the carousel feels complete on desktop (it shows 3 cards at once).

Customer photo

Square image recommended. If empty, initials are shown — the first letter of the customer's name on a colored gradient background. Recommended size: 96 × 96 px or larger.

Customer name

The name of the customer who left the review. For example: Jane Smith or Marcus T.. Use full names or first name + last initial — it sounds more authentic than just a first name.

Role or description

Smaller line shown below the customer name. For example: Verified buyer, CEO at Acme, From New York. Adds context that makes the review more trustworthy.

Star rating

The star rating from 1 to 5. Filled stars use the Star color setting; empty stars are shown in muted grey. The default 5 is most common; mix in 4-star reviews to keep the social proof realistic.

Review

The review text shown in italic between the stars and the customer footer. Keep it concise — 2 to 4 sentences read best in the card layout. Real customer language is more convincing than polished marketing copy.

Show Verified badge

Tick this box to show a green Verified badge next to the customer name. Use it when the review is from a confirmed purchaser to add trust.

Frequently asked questions

How many testimonials should I add?

Aim for at least 6 testimonials so the carousel always has new content as it auto-advances. The desktop layout shows 3 cards at once, tablet shows 2, and mobile shows 1. With 6+ testimonials, every cycle of the carousel feels fresh.

What if I don't have customer photos?

Leave the Customer photo field empty and the section will automatically show the customer's initials on a colored gradient circle. This keeps the design consistent and removes the need to source photos.

Can I disable autoplay?

Yes — untick Enable autoplay. Visitors will navigate through the testimonials manually with the arrows or by dragging on touch devices. Autoplay also pauses automatically when visitors hover over a card so they can finish reading.

Why do my card corners stay rounded when I set the radius to 0?

Setting Card border radius to 0 follows your theme's global UI border radius. To get truly sharp corners, set the value to 2 px instead — the eye reads it as zero. Or, change the global UI border radius in Theme Settings.

How can I change the star color to match my brand?

Use the Star color setting under the Colors group. Pick any color from the picker — for example, your brand's accent color. Make sure the chosen color has enough contrast against the card background to remain readable.
