Everything you'll need to know on how to setup your Page section.

Written by Cartiafy Team Updated April 2026

The Page section renders static page content — the body text you write in the page editor. Use it for About, Contact, Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Shipping Info, and any other content page on your store. Configure content width, alignment, and spacing for a clean reading experience.

Where to find this section

The Page section is a system section that automatically renders on all page templates. The actual content (text, images, links) is written in Online Store → Pages in your Shopify admin — not in the theme editor.

1) Create your page content in Online Store → Pages → Add page. Use the WYSIWYG editor to add headings, paragraphs, images, links, and lists.

2) In the theme editor, switch to the Default page template using the page selector at the top.

3) Click on the Page section to configure layout settings (color, width, alignment, spacing).

General settings

Color scheme

Color scheme for the page. Pick from the schemes set up in Theme Settings → Colors. Controls page background, body text, headings, and link colors.

Layout

Content width

Maximum width of the page content (600–1280 px). Default: 980. Narrower widths are easier to read for long-form content (Terms, Privacy); wider widths suit pages with images and tables.

Content position

Where the content column sits on the page: Left (left-aligned within the page width) or Center (centered). Default: Center.

Text alignment

Alignment of the body text inside the column: Left (best for readability) or Center (best for short, decorative pages). Default: Left.

Spacing

Padding top

Space above the page content (0–120 px). Default: 120.

Padding bottom (desktop)

Space below the page content on desktop (0–120 px). Default: 120.

Padding bottom (mobile)

Space below the page content on mobile (0–100 px). Default: 100.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I edit the page text?

In Online Store → Pages, click the page you want to edit, and use the WYSIWYG editor in the Content field. Changes save and appear immediately on the storefront. The theme editor only controls the layout (width, padding, color) — the actual text comes from the admin.

Can I have different layouts per page?

Yes — duplicate the Default page template (e.g. page.about, page.contact) and customize. Then assign the new template to specific pages in the admin under Page → Theme template. Each page can use a different template with different settings or sections.

Can I add other sections to a page (like Hero or Multicolumn)?

Yes — like other templates, page templates support adding any section. Use Add section in the left sidebar while viewing a page template. Common patterns: Hero at the top, Page section in the middle, FAQ at the bottom.

How do I add images to my page?

Inside the WYSIWYG editor in the page admin: click the Insert image icon, upload or pick from your library. Images render at full content width by default. For more control, use HTML mode and add style="max-width: 50%" attributes.

Why is my page narrow when I have a wide screen?

The Content width setting (default 980 px) is intentionally narrow for readability on long-form text. For wider layouts (full-page galleries, columns), increase the value or duplicate the template and override the width per page.
